Check out Logan in his tux at the wedding. He was tough to get him to sit still so the photo didn't blur...that little girl next to him is his cousin-in-law? Not sure how that stuff works...

Logan and mommy
We seem to have so few pics of mommy and Logan--maybe because she's always taking the pictures!

Food, schmood!
The joys of new food...rice cereal with pears and prunes. We couldn't feed it to him fast enough.

I can eat!
Logan is getting is first solid food tonight. Rice cereal with formula. He could use it. He's still a peanut at almost 4 months!
Logan Hits the City again
Logan went to the city again this past week for his Aunt Jody's bridal shower. We don't have that many pics of Logan at the shower--mostly just him hanging out.

Logan's first sedar at our friend Toni's house. Our friend's Jill and Sean were there too. Rach was the officiant, and we all joined in as participants, stumbling through the Hebrew and eating our bitter herbs.

Another sedar pic.

Our friend Sean holding the bebe. Nice face, man!
Sean, Jill, and Mommy took Logan to his first story-time at the library.

A sing-a-long during circle time. Logan gets a big kick out of it. We're going to be regulars!

Weekend at Adam and Jody's
Daddy had a reunion party to go to Friday night in the city, so we decided to spend the weekend at Adam and Jody's. Logan had lots of fun strolling around, shopping, seeing the many wondrous manifestations of city life. He also had a good time playing with his Uncle and future Aunt.
I know Daddy likes to snuggle, but he's got to lose the beard. Waaaay to scratchy.

The "L" Factor
So who sent the "L?" We received a gift in the mail the other day: a wooden cube with the letter "L" on one side, Logan's birth date on another side, etc. Obviously hand-crafted. It smelled sweetly of freshly burnt wood, like a fireplace. Very cool gift. If we only knew who it came from...?
So who's the phantom wood-gifter?

The Ride of the Valkyries, for Example
We realized today Logan is an innate fan of classical music. It started with Vivaldi's Four Seasons ("Spring"), then Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries, then Bach's Cello Suites. It kept him calm and curious for some time, even during a few diaper changes--something he generally cries about.
Of course tomorrow he might like The White Stripes or Sublime. Iron Maiden he'll have to wait a few years for. No head banging or body slamming allowed in the crib.
Oh, he smiled at us this morning, too. "Hi, Logan," I said in a high pitched voice. And then he looked right at me with big smile. First time. He did it with Rach, too. Very sweet.

The Loganman Cometh
Just some more pics. Logan had his first real bath with Mommy yesterday evening. He floated while mommy held him--he seemed relaxed in the warm water. I'm glad about that. I like babies who like water. That way, when he gets older and decides to do a triple lindy into a pool of mud, he'll be happy to bath himself too. Awww.
In other news, he had his second doctor's appointment on Friday. Everything's fine. The PKU test showed all negatives (no amino acid disorders, endocrine disorders, etc.). He's fitter than a rhino. He eats like one, too. Which is good, considering my brother in law wants to transform him into a rugby player. Somehow I don't think that will happen if he gets my body type. I'm so thin that when I turn sideways I disappear. I guess that might make for an interesting scrum.

Hi, I'm cute. How are you?

More Baby Logan
In between sleeplessness, voluminous poops, and excessive cuteness, we were able to format some more pics for everyone. Soon we'll post a brief story of the birth so everyone can get an idea of how Logan came into this crazy world.
Getting scrub-a-dubbed at the hospital for the first time.
This rinse is booooring...zzzzzz.

This is making me cry for the first time ever. I have a feeling it won't be the last.

These pictures are from the open house on December 2nd. It was a whirlwind of activity. Hopefully everyone had a good time - I did! Thanks to all for a great party. Special thanks to Grandma O'Connor, Aunt Diane, Cousin Jaimie, Aunt Nancy, Aunt Jody, Grandma Selene and Grandma Isabel for making it fun and festive. XOXO - love, Rachel

Ready to Pop

Sorry about the lack of posts everyone.
But the moment is here (almost)!
Rachel went to the doctor this past Friday--she's 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. She does have contractions, but they come and go. When the doc examined Rach, she could feel the baby's head. The positioning seems good--at least he's not breach. He might be posterior, but a sure sign of an upside down baby is back pain. She has none. Oddly, Rach's back has not been the problem we thought it would.
We're hoping Logan holds off until after next Wednesday when Rach finishes her exams.
But he's on his way down the pike!
Here's a final pic... next post I'm hoping to include photos of Loganman!
